1. What is the target form of the first Present Simple + Future Simple
conditional (both clauses)? (F) Consists of IF clause which is used with Present Simple and Main Clause which is used
with Future simple or Will + Infinitive.
Form: If/When + Present Simple (Subject + Will/ Won’t + V), + Future Simple (Will +
Infinitive)
OR: Simple future(Will + infinitive)…If/When…Simple Present (Subject +
Will/Won’t + V)
Affirmative form:
E.g. If I do my homework now, I’ll go to the movies tonight.
Negative form:
E.g. If I don’t do my homework now, I won’t go to the movies tonight.
2. What is the model sentence you will elicit to I will elicit a question based on my own example used in the warmer based on a specific
begin your presentation? situation.
E.g. I would create a scenario for the students in the warmer using the sentence “If I do
my homework now, I’ll go to the movies tonight.” And then ask then them each to write
an example finishing the sentence e.g. “If I finish my homework now, .” and then to
add what their plans would be. Then I would end up with various examples from students
such as “If I do my homework now, we’ll get ice-cream tonight.” Or “If I do my
homework now, I’ll visit Isabella.”
3. What are the negative and question Model sentence in negative form: If don’t do my homework now, I won’t go to the
(interrogative) forms of your model sentence? movies tonight.”
(You might find there is more than one Form: If + Present Simple (Subject + Will/Won’t + V), + Future Simple (will + Infinitive)
possibility, but you only need to show one
negative and one question, then analyse the Model sentence in question form: If I do my homework now, will I go to the movies
