I would create a scenario for the students in the warmer using the sentence “If I do my homework now, I’ll go to the movies tonight.” And then ask then them each to write an example finishing the sentence e.g. “If I finish my homework now, .” and then to add what their plans would be. Then I would end up with various examples from students such as “If I do my homework now, we’ll get ice-cream tonight.” Or “If I do my homework now, I’ll visit Isabella.”

Form: If/When + Present Simple (Subject + Will/ Won’t + V), + Future Simple (Will +
Infinitive)
OR: Simple future(Will + infinitive)…If/When…Simple Present (Subject +
Will/Won’t + V)

Affirmative form:
E.g. If I do my homework now, I’ll go to the movies tonight.
Negative form:
E.g. If I don’t do my homework now, I won’t go to the movies tonight.
