Hedonism: The ultimate goal of all our actions is pleasure, we should not defer pleasures at hand for
the sake of future pleasures

o Physical (Exercise, better sleep, fewer symptoms)

- Limitations:
o Appear to increase pleasant emotions more than it decreases unpleasant emotions
o Did not reduce physical pain
o May be short-term
o May be gender-specific

- Benefits:
o Clarify thoughts and feelings
o Know yourself better
o Reduce stress, better sleep
o Solve problems more effectively
o Resolve disagreements with others

- Virtues lie between two vices: Deficiency or excess
- Universal

- Each character strength is valued in its own right
- Each character strength is malleable ( I can learn a particular strength and get better at it )
