The business that I have decided to look at is McDonald.
Almost every organisation will have a corporate message and has aims and objectives. Often
all the organisation will spend millions of pounds trying to ensure they get their message
across – to create a positive and a good corporate image for the company. A corporate
image is very important to an organisation like MacDonald and this is massively affect their
profit levels and their sales because if they have a good image this will increase the profit
and the sales however if they don’t have a good image then the profit levels might decrease
and as a result they might have to shut the business. This can also influence the quality of
employees – most people would also like to work for the organisation which has a good
corporate image.
The mission statement is a message that the organisation wants its customer to think about
when they hear about the company so that they will have to make a mission statement, it is
a short statement many business like McDonald’s this statement summarises their core
values and helps steer their strategic decisions. The mission statement is often found on the
company’s website. In order to determine what the message the mission statement tries to
put over you need to think about the each and the every word or phrase very carefully. For
McDonald’s the Mission Statement is:
“Our mission is to be our customers’ favourite place and way to eat & drink.
We’re dedicated to being a great place for our people to work; to being a
strong, positive presence in your community; and to delivering the quality,
service, cleanliness and value our customers have come to expect from the
Golden Arches – a symbol that’s trusted around the world.”
In the mission statement of McDonald’s it includes the details about its market position
meaning that they are the “favourite place to eat and drink”. This might suggest that they
are telling the customers that they are favourite of the other customers? Also they also
include the information about the human resources like telling the “great place for our
people to work” this shows that the employees are also happy to work there because it
refers as great. McDonald’s mission statement covers its corporate social responsibility
position in the “positive presence in your community”. The rest of the mission statement
indicates McDonald’s brand image and the service that they provide and also the character
of its products. McDonald’s mission statement covers the “world” which might suggest that
they are all around the world because the mission statement says “trusted around the
world”.
