1. Discuss some of the highlights of the airport certification process and their significance. The Federal Aviation Act authorizes FAA to issue a certification of airport for air carrier aircraft. The Airport and Airway Development of Act of 1970 was added in 1950’s Act. There is certain minimum safety standard required from any person who wants to operate the airport. In addition, FAA requires to meet standard of airport such as its design, runway, taxiway, record keeping and so on.
