“Today’s children and adolescents are immersed in both traditional and new forms of digital
media. … Over the past decade, the use of digital media, including interactive and social media,
has grown, and research evidence suggests that newer media offer both benefits and risks to the
health of children and teenagers” (Reid et al.,2016, p. e1).
Address this statement by writing an argumentative essay in which you pay attention to the
benefits and risks of electronic and social media for the physical, cognitive, and
emotional/behavioural health of children and adolescents.
Search two (2) recent scientific articles (published from 2016 to 2022) on the influence of
electronic and social media on the development of children and adolescents that may support
your thesis statement. Use the information in these articles, as well as the information in the
prescribed book and recommended journal articles, when writing your essay. Remember to cite
all your sources of information as references in your reference list (you must provide the links
where your two sourced articles can be accessed).

- The recommended periodical articles
- The two recent articles that you searched
Your discussion for assignment 2 (i.e. introductions, discussion, and conclusions) must not be
longer than 5 typed pages (1.5 line spacing) and must be submitted in PDF format.
