How does the HR planning process facilitate the achievement of an organization’s strategic objectives? Use examples pulled from an organization with which you are familiar. The HR Department is a crucial component for employees in any organization and human resources planning is imperative to an organizations success. Human Resources planning is an ongoing process that helps an organization plan for current and future needs so that an organization can meet their goals. When an organization is going through a changes such a new product launch, the organization has to work closely with the HR Department to be sure that the skills and work experience is in place to assist with product launch. This is done through recruitment events, in-house promotions, and possibly through third party employment agencies. When I worked for Nextel Communications, our HR department worked very closely with each department to ensure that the management teams have what they need to manage their teams successfully. For example, each time we had a new region to launch to provide services for new customers, new employees were needed for our customer service call center. The supervisor and manager would work closely with HR to ensure that the hiring process would give us the best candidates possible. I always encouraged our HR department to conduct mock phone calls so that we could hear how the potential candidate would sound during a call. However, this was not taken into consideration but a full behavior interview would be conducted and a tour of the call center.
