OPSEC - ANSWER-The process to deny the enemy critical information about us Classified Material - ANSWER-Any document or media upon which classified information is embodied. Security - ANSWER-The establishment of a protected environment for classified materials. Access - ANSWER-The ability and opportunity to obtain knowledge of classified materials. Clearance - ANSWER-Eligibility for access to classified information. Top Secret - ANSWER-Can cause exceptionally grave damage to national security. Secret - ANSWER-Can cause serious damage to national security. Confidential - ANSWER-Can cause identifiable damage to national security. Unclassified - ANSWER-Labeled as such if not designated as one of the other three. FOUO - ANSWER-NOT a classification designator. Final Clearance - ANSWER-The Dept. of the Navy Central Adjudication Facility is the issuing authority for final clearances. CO of a company - ANSWER-Directly responsible for all matters pertaining to security of classified materials used or held by the command. S-2 Officer - ANSWER-Report to the S-2 to upgrade your security clearance. Personal Information(PI) - ANSWER-Information about an individual that identifies, relates, or is unique to, or describes him or her. Personally identifiable information (PII) - ANSWER-Information such as name, SSN, EDIPI, or biometric numbers. Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever - ANSWER-Infected by Tick. Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, headache, etc Lyme Disease - ANSWER-Carried by Tick. Rapidly infectious. Symptoms: progressive red rash develops, "bulls-eye" rings. Joints swell Chiggers - ANSWER-Small red welts on the skin; extreme itchiness. 2 spiders most common to Quantico - ANSWER-Black Widow & Brown recluse Snakes common to Quantico - ANSWER-Copperhead, Timber rattlesnake, Water Moccasin. GTFO if you see any of these. Heat Cramps - ANSWER-Caused by lack of electrolytes(salt). Heat exhaustion - ANSWER-Caused by high temps and humidity, overexertion; symptoms: rapid breathing, dizziness, blurred vision, pale, clammy skin. Heat stroke - ANSWER-Extreme exposure to high temps, humidity, and overexertion. Same symptoms as heat exhaustion, except victim will experience a higher internal temperature(104°+) and could cause brain damage. Frostbite - ANSWER-The freezing of flesh. Caused by restriction of blood flow to appendages when conserving heat. Symptoms: loss of sensation, swelling, hard/red. Trench Foot - ANSWER-Caused by moisture trapped against the skin for an extended amount of time. How to prevent: avoid water, change socks, keep feet warm, good foot hygiene! Hypothermia - ANSWER-Caused by body's temperature dropping below 95°. Pulse and respiration are slowed by 85-81°; <78° will result in death. Avoid water during frigid temperatures, and always pack adequate warming layers! COLD - ANSWER-Keep it Clean Avoid Overheating Wear clothing Loosely and in Layers Keep it Dry (Clean, Overheating, Layers, Dry) Arterial Bleeding - ANSWER-Flow of bright red blood that spurts out. Victim could bleed out in one to two minutes. Venous bleeding - ANSWER-Steady flow of dark red blood. Heart could stop completely if air bubble comes through vein opening while heart is contracting. Capillary bleeding - ANSWER-Slow oozing of blood, from minor wounds. Controlling External Bleeding - ANSWER-Mild bleeding can be controlled by both elevating the wound and application of direct pressure. Pressure points - ANSWER-A location where the main artery to the injury site lies near the surface of the skin and directly over a bone. There's are 22 pressure points in the body. Serious Bleeding - ANSWER-Always apply direct pressure to a wound. Tourniquet - ANSWER-If casualty is suffering from a life-threatening hemorrhaging, do not hesitate to apply a tourniquet! Tourniquet Application - ANSWER-Place 2-4 inches from wound, between wound and the heart. Tighten thoroughly, and mark casualty's forehead with "T" with time and date. Closed wounds- contusions - ANSWER-Caused by blood leaking into wound. Blunt objects striking the body with sufficient force to crush tissue. Open wounds- abrasions - ANSWER-A loss of skin from being rubbed or scraped across a hard surface. Laceration - ANSWER-A cut produced by glass, metal, or other jagged objects to cut through the subcutaneous tissue, muscles, and/or nerves. Incison - ANSWER-A cut similar to a laceration, but without jagged edges. A clean slit. Puncture wounds - ANSWER-A wound where skin is penetrated through, or stabbed, by a knife, nail, ice pick, etc. Can also be a gunshot wound. Special wounds- avulsion - ANSWER-An injury in which a whole piece of skin and/ muscle tissue is torn loose and hanging as a flap. Crushing wounds - ANSWER-A most severe contusion; the skeletal system is damaged. Sucking Chest Wounds - ANSWER-An injury causing a hole in the chest wall. Symptom: coughing up frothy, bright red blood. Tension Pneumothorax - ANSWER-An open chest wound; air pressure builds up in the chest cavity and the collapsed lung presses against the uninjured lung, causing both to be disrupted. 2nd leading cause of death on the battlefield. Types of burns - ANSWER-1st, 2nd, 3rd. Third degree burns are life threatening emergencies! Law of War - ANSWER-"That part of war that regulates the conduct of armed hostilities. Standard Letter - ANSWER-The military's version of a business letter. Memo - ANSWER-An informal way to correspond within an activity or between Dept of Navy activities. AA Form - ANSWER-Designed to reduce the administrative workload and to standardize certain routine actions. Confidential Directive - ANSWER-Classified with a zero preceding the SSIC #. Secret Directive - ANSWER-Classified with a double zero preceding the SSIC #. MCO - ANSWER-Written communication for establishing or changing Marine Corps policy. I'm effect for 9 years.
