Cross-cultural communication
It is the communication among the people from different cultures, beliefs,
thoughts, races and recognizing the similarities and believes of these differences for
the effective interview(Taylor, 2013).
Barriers to cross-culture communication
Ethnocentrism: - is the perception of oneself about the culture of others. In the case
of ethnocentrism, the person natively reviews the culture of others (Taylor, 2013)
Language: - language is one of the major factors for communication. People from
different languages cannot be able to communicate if they are not familiar with the
common language. In the world, there are so many countries and people use different
languages (Taylor, 2013).
Psychological: - it is one of the important barriers to cross-cultural communication,
the person is always thinking negatively about the culture of others. Sometimes a
person from a particular culture is not able to adjust to a person from another
culture (Taylor, 2013)
Distance barrier: - it is the gap between the persons of two different cultures. The
people from two different cultures do not get the accurate time and chance to
communicate with each other.
Conflicts: - the conflicts happen when there is maladjustment among the people in
different cultures and believes (Taylor, 2013).
