One-sample t-test
Analyze -> Compare means -> One Sample T test -> verplaats de te onderzoeken variabele naar box
Test Variables -> Ok.
Independent-samples t-test
Analyze -> Compare means -> Independent Samples T test -> move dependent (continuous) variable
into Test variable box -> move independent variable (categorical) into section labelled Grouping
variable -> Define groups -> type numbers used in data set to code each group -> Continue -> OK.
Let op: bepaal of equal variances (not) assumed: grote Std. Deviation/ kleine Std. Deviation, als > 2,
dan zijn de varianties niet gelijk, bij < 2 zijn ze wel gelijk.
Let op: Als Sig. > .05 dan zijn de varianties gelijk.
Paired-samples t-test
Analyze -> Compare means -> Paired Samples T test -> move the two variables that you comparing
for each subject into the box labelled Paired Variable -> if needed change the Confidence Interval
Percentage at Options -> Continue -> OK.
Chi² for goodness-of-fit
Analyze -> Nonparametric Tests -> Legacy Dialogs -> Chi-square -> move categorical variable into
Test Variable List box -> fill in Expected Values if needed -> Ok.
Chi² for independency and homogenity
Analyze -> Descriptive Satistics -> Crosstabs -> put variable in Row box and Column box -> click on
Statistics -> check Chi-square, Phi and Cramer’s V -> Continue -> click on Cells -> make sure
Observed is check in the Counts Box -> check Row, Column and Total in the Percentage section ->
Continue -> Ok.
Wilcoxon’s signed rank test
Analyze -> Nonparametric Tests -> Legacy Dialogs -> 2 Related Samples -> move the two variable
that you are comparing into the Test Pairs box -> make sure the Wilcoxon box is checked in Test
Type section -> click on Options and check Quartiles if you need the median scores -> Continue ->
Ok.
Let op: positive ranks met Sum of Ranks is T⁺.
Wilcoxon’s rank sum test
Analyze -> Nonparametric Tests -> Legacy Dialogs -> 2 Independent Samples -> move continuous
(dependent) variable into Test Variable List box -> move categorical (independent) variable into
Grouping Variable box -> click on Define Groups and define the groups -> Continue -> Ok.
