The cough has become worse and is not productive with green sputum. The three differential diagnosis as follows: 1. Bronchitis Bronchitis is caused by inflammation of the bronchi, the airway passages that extend from the trachea into small airways and alveoli. The signs and symptoms of bronchitis include cough, sputum production, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, general malaise, chest patient, dyspnea, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, muscle aches, and extreme fatigue. The air passages become clogged and irritated. Copious secretion of mucous develops which causes the characteristic cough (Fayyaz et. al., 2015). Bronchitis is a common upper respiratory tract infection that includes a cough that can last 3 weeks (McCance, Huether, Brashers, & Rote, 2013).
