Mr Grey acknowledged the members present. He commenced the meeting by addressing the main issues that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic which have affected tertiary institutions within the country. The key objective for the meeting remained to implement the transfer to online tuitions. He requested Mr Johnson to brief the members on the importance of the project. In his address, Mr Johnson initiated the briefing by revising on the fact that the corona virus spreads through physical interactions, which institutes a risk to students. As a result, it was suggested to allocate funds to ensure that universities, colleges, and other educational institutions purchase electronic equipment, such as laptops and Wi-Fi routers to assist students during the course of their academic careers. Entrusting large amounts of money to young adults would potentially lead to reckless spending, subsequently Mrs Tobi and Ms Piyet were unconvinced about the proposition of awarding vouchers and electronic devices to students. Due to their uncertainty, together Mr Johnson and Mr Grey proposed ways to eliminate their concerns by brainstorming preventative ways related to the misuse of funds. The suggestions included were, inability to exchange vouchers for cash, tablet expenses, eligibility and duration of data. The longevity of these advantages would rely on the academic performance of the students, which was advised by Mrs Tobi and supported by Mr Johnson citing that the elements of the discussion would form part of the proposal for the Minister of Finance. He further stated that students who did not achieve in accordance with the requirements would be discontinued from receiving the benefits. In relation to good performance, Ms Piyet included that the responsibility of proper management of the benefactors rests upon the universities and colleges. The implementation of such measures would allow for maximum benefit from the initiative. The agreement of that inclusion resulted to the next part of discussion which was associated to funding for the commencement of the program. The main Page 3 of 8 objective was to implement online tuition which would have required assistance from the government, Mr Grey suggested that in order to attain that objective, the bookkeeping of the initiative must be inspected thoroughly to prevent reckless expenditure. He further stated that institutions who had received financial support would be held accountable for the funds. In addition, he noted that the misuse of funds would result to serious consequences. To conclude, the compilation of the presentation was prepared by Mr Grey and assisted by Ms Piyet. All the members in meeting were in agreement with regards to the proposal presented. Mr Grey stated that he will present the proposal to the Ministers of Finance and Education. Thereafter, members of the meeting would be notified on the advancement of the proposal. Hence, the members of the community would not have thought to attach water filters or check the chemical level of the water before consuming. 4.3 Water pollution happens when contamination of water becomes unusable. Consequently, there could be many reasons for the polluted water that caused the widespread of diseases throughout the community. Possible examples could be, incompletion of the water treatment, burst pipes or contaminated water that runs through mines. 5. Recommendations 5.1 Water indicators should be enforced to monitor the system from source to tap, including water quality indicators for any suspicious activity. 5.2 Emerging contaminants should be examined. This will indicate if the water is unsafe to release. 5.3 Triggers for action should be put in place.
