What is a CBC? In your own words, briefly describe why it is useful.

The CBC can be useful for a multitude of reasons, depending on what the
physician is looking for. I can be done as part of a routine check up, as a follow
up test, or done separately as part of an evaluation based on symptoms a
patient presents. It is not a definitive test to diagnose something, but results
may be indicitive of certain problems. A CBC may be ordered to detect
disorders including anemia, infection, or leukemia along with others.
