Part I Hopelessness and being disgusted usually contribute to low mood affecting the way one perceives their self, personal circumstances, other individuals, and even the worldly things surrounding that person. The act of being disgusted usually means you have not been contented with a decision you made or approved of something you are doing. Hopelessness leaves you feeling worn out with no hope of having a positive outcome. These two feelings can be difficult to cope with. They leave you feeling unwanted, unworthy, and disturbed. Keeping a log of my thoughts was difficult. According to Corey (2017, pp 303), selective abstraction could happen whereby other information is unheeded, and the significance of the total context is lost. One moment you are hopeless and the next you are spirited making it hard to choose the feelings to log onto the record. Feelings change depending on someone’s thoughts. The perception of those thoughts brings about emotion. When something happens, you will feel different emotions depending on how your mind perceives your situation and tries to solve the problem at hand. According to Corey (2017 pp 292), we tend to actively reinforce our self-debating beliefs through the process of autosuggestion and self-repetition, and we then behave in ways that are in line with these beliefs This is the same case with my emotions. They vary depending on what I am doing, who is nearby and the place I am in. Moreover, I tend to judge these feelings in regard to how I assess the situation and how my mind perceives the assessment. This makes my emotions vary from one condition to another. CBT thought record offers therapists a chance to offer their clients a better treatment strategy within a short period. Therapists perceive our feelings and develop a treatment procedure that helps amend our manner of feeling and acting. According to (Corey, pp 302), CBT perceives psychological issues as stemming from commonplace processes such as faulty thinking, making incorrect inferences based on inadequate or incorrect information, and failing to tell apart between fantasy and reality. Recording our thinking makes us identify negative thoughts, identify any problems with our thinking, and can help us to make changes to our thinking. However, this process relies on the assumption that the client records were accurate. Cognitive-behavioral assessments involve the investigation of a client’s personal history. If the therapist is unaware of a client’s cultural beliefs, which are rooted in the past, the therapist may have difficulty interpreting the client’s personal experiences accurately (Corey, pp. 317). Assumptions are not facts. They can be inaccurate causing the therapist to recommend treatment procedures that will not help the client
