Introduction
Healthcare is a dynamic industry, with several sub-sectors undergoing fast development,
including biotechnology, genetic testing, customized treatment, and personal health technology.
The field of personal health technology (PHT) has also seen rapid growth; there are now several
gadgets and applications available to assist patients in keeping track of and improving their
health (Matheny et al., 2019). Increased reliance on technology in healthcare raises the stakes for
those with the analytical chops to make sense of the data being collected. In this essay, I will
utilize the information I gathered from my interview with Nina, a 24-year-old nurse, to discuss
the role technology plays in her work and the possible advantages and disadvantages of
technology in healthcare.
The majority of Nina's background in technology and healthcare comes from her work
with computers to retrieve and record patient information, and from her work with medical
equipment like thermometers and stethoscopes. As a result of technological advancements, she
says, healthcare has been able to handle and organize patient data more effectively and
efficiently (Sim, 2019). In addition, Nina thinks technology has improved patient care because
people now have easier access to the information they need to make educated decisions about
their own health.
Biotechnology
It has become more common practice to employ biotechnology in patient diagnosis and
tracking. This technique is applied in the field of medicine for the purpose of diagnosing and
