Introduction - In this task, I am going to explain how organisations
obtain the cooperation of their employees. The business I will be using is
Asda

Contract of employment

A contract of employment is a contract that is prepared for the employer
and employee. This is an agreement between the employer and
employee when an employee is accepted for the job and starts work.
Having a contract of employment is needed in the workplace so the
employee understands the terms and conditions that are provided by the
employer before starting work.

The benefits of a contact of employment

 Employees know what is expected of them from the business and
performs their duties well
 Businesses can get the best employees
 It gives more control of the way an employee works
 It helps meet businesses standards
 Protects confidential information of a business such as when an
employee learns about trade secrets

Asda offers different contract of employments for example, full-time and
part-time contracts, fixed-term contracts however they do not offer zero
hour contracts.

Contractual entitlement

A contractual entitlement is outlined within the contract of employment so
that an employer and employee know what is expected of each one.

Eight things included in the contractual entitlement

 Amount of wage or salary and when it’s paid
 Rules of disciplinary
 Working hours
 Holiday pay
 Notice period
 Sick Pay

Some of the contractual entitlement Asda offers is holiday pay, bank
holiday Sick Pay, personal days off.
