Journal #4
Prompt: Examine the rhetorical strategies you have used in the past to win an argument or convince someone to believe your side. In your first paragraph, discuss a time when you had to convince someone or needed to win an argument. It could be like convincing your professor to give you an extension for an assignment or convincing your boss to give you a raise. Whatever the moment was, provide all the details needed for your reader to understand the moment. This is the paragraph to set the stage for the moment. Then, explain how you ultimately won the argument or convinced your audience. Explain the ethos, pathos, or logos you used to help you be successful in this moment. Then describe anything you would have done differently after learning the rhetorical strategies in this lesson. Format: Microsoft Word file At least 250 words MLA format (for more information on MLA format, go to the link in Week 1 Resources) Broken into distinct introduction, body, and concluding paragraphs (at least 3 paragraphs total)
