Unit 4 Learning Aim B - Explain the chosen event idea, including
reasons for choice
In this task will work on creating a comprehensive event business plan that uses planning tools, and
considers budget, risks and contingencies.
Mind Map
The mind map shows the suggested ideas of what people recommended should happen during the day of
the event. This helped us conclude on which idea is feasible or non-feasible, as for each instance we took
in the consideration of how long it will take to acquire or produce that product and the funds needed to do
so.
Empire
Who we are?
The name of our company is Empire and we are an event organising company, our slogan is “Your
Vision, Our Creation”. With our brand image of creating impeccable events with the highest quality for our
clients.
, Event Purpose
The purpose of this event is to set up a performance for the performing art students where they will be
showcasing their skills in acting and dancing. The dance pieces are based on the stimulus of “Shadows in
The Dark”, and the acting the style is a variety of different plays and genre of plays.
Our Job as Empire for this event is to promote the idea of their performance by marketing it to parents and
partners schools like secondary schools to attract people to apply for that course. It’s a free ticketed event
so we will be managing the capacity of the audience with a maximum of 60 people allowed. We are also
thinking about raising money for a chosen charity by selling refreshments, planning to be established
around the 15th of December.
Empire key aims and objectives
One of Empire aims and objectives will be to provide quality services by organising multiple types of
events based on clients briefs that are memorable.
Another aim and objective of Empire will be to ensure customer satisfaction is key to all we do.
A final aim and objective of Empire will be to evaluate the success of events against success criteria
and provide feedback to clients.
Empire Success Factors
One of Empire success factors will be to have a clear vision as it will help the company stay on
track as it gives them something to aim towards. This will help as it sets appropriate aims and
objectives that will contribute to the event success.
Another success factor of Empire will be to have excellent marketing as we need to promote the
event in order to get people to purchase tickets. This can be conducted by doing conduct adequate
market research on the market we are planning to sell to, so that we can affectively promote the
event to generate profit.
A final success factor of Empire will be to have impeccable planning, as the plan breaks
everything down to reduce the chance of failure for that event. This is vital as we need to maintain a
cost-effective event, as the remaining profit will go towards charity, this can be achieved by
purchasing cheaper items with good quality.
