Unit 14 Physiological Disorders -diabetes and asthma.

Draft

Introduction

This assignment will be focusing on two named physiology disorders. It will
look at the nature and diagnosis explaining the signs and symptoms,
including assessments involved in difficulties diagnosis. Physiological
disorder is a sickness that intrudes the functions of the body which are
carried out (reference). When the body functions are incorrect evident effects
can be seen in the body. These can result due to several reasons, depending
on what body system that has a big involvement and makes the functions
that are not running accurately. For instance, there could be too much or
very little of the exact substance, worsening of a clear cell types or
obstructions of passageways. Firstly, the physiological disorder that will be
discussed is diabetics which is an insulin hormone that affects both the
metabolism and other body system. Secondly, Asthma is an event with
clinical symptoms of airway narrowing with subsequent interference
with airflow.

P1

Diabetes

Diabetes types a physiological disease where the immune system will fight
the beta cells beta cells where the pancreas is which produce insulin. This
avoids the insulin from being made sufficiently to be able to control the blood
glucose levels. Diabetes type 1 usually appears when the body system is
incapable to make enough insulin that regulates blood glucose levels. Type 2
diabetes is common in adults than type 1. To help manage their blood
glucose levels to a suitable level they must take insulin daily. Diabetes type 1
usually occurs in children and adolescents, however, still stays the same into
adulthood as it is a lifetime physiological disorder.

Diabetes type 1 can come with various signs and symptoms appear quickly
and children but a lot slower in adulthood. The main signs and symptoms
involve:

Hypoglycaemia – disappears when the blood sugars become scientifically
low. This occurs when individual has not consumed enough carbohydrates in
the earlier meal or if they have not had anything to eat in a prolonged period
or consume too much insulin. The signs of hypoglycaemia involve, feeling
hungry, finding it difficult to concentrate, sweating, being anxious and
feeling shaky.

, Polydipsia/polyuria – this happens when an individual with type one diabetes
will become thirstier than usual and having to go to the loo more than usual.
Both symptoms have a sign of having high blood glucose level. This is when
the kidneys attempt to get rid of extra blood sugar, this can cause someone
with diabetes type 1 to urinate more than usual to attempt to get rid of the
excess blood sugar

Weight loss – inadequate insulin prevents the body getting glucose from the
blood. This triggers the body to burn fat for it to produce energy, which
results to weight loss.

Hyperglycaemia – appears when blood sugar become exceedingly high. This
occurs when an individual is unwell, stressed, not active enough and haven
taken enough insulin to balance carbohydrates consumed.

Fatigue – frequently an outcome of extremely high hyperglycaemia or
extremely low blood sugar level. Signs include tiredness as one-sidedness of
blood glucose from the blood glucose and flow of insulin

These signs and symptoms can negatively affect someone’s day to day life
routine and that person will have to work though their diabetes type 1. For
instance, polyuria may cause someone to go toilet more than usual. This
shows that he or she could require to go toilet more when there out. This can
also mean someone with diabetes type 1 should sensibly plan their meals for
a day and how they can avoid the high risk of hyperglycaemia and
hypoglycaemia. This concludes that they should plan a meal to ensure they
make enough insulin for when they eat.

Asthma

Asthma in a lung condition common in adults which occasional causes
breathing difficulties. Asthma is caused by inflammation of breathing tubes
which carry air in and out of lungs. When the tubes get extremely sensitive
this caused temporarily narrowing It. This may randomly happen after
exposure from a tigger. It is known to affect people from all ages starting
from childhood. At present there is currently no cure, although there are
simple treatments which can help to manage symptoms under control so
that their asthma does not have a big effect on their life. Also identifying
and to help avoid the tiggers of asthma is to help keep the symptoms under
control. When n the symptoms get temporarily worse it is known to be an
asthma attack.

The main signs and symptoms and are as follows below:

 Wheeze when they have a whistling sound when breathing
 Chest tightness which may feel as if a band is tightening around.
