The Data Protection Act 1998 protects all the information given by people to
Companies, whether is a College/University, a Hospital, or an Electricity supplie
Any Company should keep all their customers’ details, such as telephone
number, address, bank details, etc. safe and they shouldn’t let anyone have
access to them.
STUDENT RECORDS Matthew Boulton College complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 by keepin
all the student records private and safe. Also, the ones who can have access to
their records are the students. The College cannot give any information about
students to anyone else because it would mean that they are breaking the law.
Another example of how the college complies with the Data Protection Act 199
it would be that the College doesn’t give the consent to students for having
information such as address, phone number, marital status, etc. about tutors o
any other members within the College.
Also, the College doesn’t give any other information such as exams results to
anyone else but the student, or the work that the students made.
If the College would give this information to anyone who’s asking for them, the
