N.B TO AVOID PLAGIARISM, DO NOT FORGET TO PARAPHRASE
YOUR WORK (CHANGE WORDS)!!!
Section A: Integrated content and text-based questions
Question 1
1.1. The term collocation refers to a word that is often used with another word, in such a
way that it sounds correct to people who have spoken it all their lives but it might not be

1

, expected from the actual meaning. Another example of collocation in the text above is
the term Social Sciences and it refers to the study of the people in the society.
1.2. The term yet creates a relationship between the clauses, “There are many merits in
adapting to the 4IR” and “I would be remiss not to”, forming a whole sentence yet giving
a more contradicting form from the sentence before it and having the clause “Yet, I
would remiss not to” would make the sentence itself more confusing as one would
wonder what the idea contrary to this statement was. Therefore, using the term yet
gives the readers more understanding on what is going on and avoids confusion.
1.3. The words expressed by the compound noun is “counter and productive”. To
counter means to react to something with an opposing opinion or action and productive
means to put more effort to something and achieve a lot. The two terms combined
means counterproductive and it refers to having the opposite of the desired effect.
1.4. The antonym for the word “just” is “unjust”.
- We live in an unjust society, whereby females are not recognized as proper leaders in
the workplace.

Question 2
2.1. Historically- This represents an adverb; it grammatically functions to give more
information about the verb and in this case, it tells us, when the action had occurred.
2.2. Frustrating- Represents an adjective, it grammatically functions by describing the
noun as we can see it is before the verb “often boring”.
2.3. Personnel- Represents a noun and it grammatically functions to describe the
people that are being spoken about in the text.
2.4. Thus- Represents a conjunctive adverb, the word thus grammatically functions to
describe and modifies the whole sentence.
2.5. Harmful- Represents an adjective, the word harmful gives more information and
describes the noun personality.
