Walden University Nursing 4105 Advocacy Through Healthcare Policy Topic 5, Discussion Question 2: Influencing Health and Social Policy Health determinants are critical influencers of any community’s health. These determinants will represent different things for different communities. There are however those that are universal and include the needs of veterans such as homelessness and post-traumatic stress, immigration, lack of healthcare, limited of health care, medical and legalized marijuana, unemployment, undocumented workers and reproductive health (Adler et al., 2016). These determinants will determine how healthy or unhealthy my community is. For instance, the presence of homeless veterans will mean a disabled community. The access of immigrants to healthcare will also determine how the whole community stays healthy. .................
