Question 1


Electrical circuits with resistors in series and parallel – measuring the potential
difference and current.
Aim:
To measure the potential difference and current when resistors are connected in
series and parallel in a circuit.


Step 1


Investigative Question: How does resistors connected in both series and parallel
affect the potential
difference and current of a circuit?


Step 2


Hypothesis: When resistors are connected in both series and parallel, the potential
difference in series increases as well as the current and the potential difference in
parallel stays the same as well as the current.

Apparatus needed
• Batteries x2
• Resistors x3
• Cabled Wires
• Cardboard box


Method
Place the cardboard on the table. Place the batteries on the box then connect the
batteries together, the negative terminal is then connected to the positive terminal of
the battery. Connect the cabled wires to the battery on the negative terminal. Yet,
after connect the resistors to the positive terminal of the batteries.
