Assignment B - Lesson Plan Form and Paragraph
The lesson aims to introduce the first conditional sentence to the
students, with the function of talking about things/events that are
likely to happen or may happen in the future. This will also assist
them in understanding that the first conditional sentence is a way of
connecting two separate but related events.
Lesson Type: Grammar Lesson Aims:
Students learn the different ways of using the first conditional
sentence, for instance, using it to make promises, warnings, and
offers.
To see the contrast in the use of present simple and future simple
sentences.
During the presentation in the warmer stage, the students will
understand the function and form of the first conditional.
A2 (Late elementary/ To recognize key lexis and identify structures of the first conditional.
Level of Class: pre-intermediate) Lesson Objectives:
By making use of controlled practice activities students will practice
Teenagers (14-16 years old) producing the form accurately.
By making use of freer practice activities students will practice
producing the form communicatively.

present continuous, and past simple for common verbs and are
familiar with “will” to indicate future events.

South Korean Assumed Knowledge: Grammatical terminology they are familiar with which includes

Some students may have already been exposed to the first
conditional form.
Problem: As soon as students start to struggle, they may want to start
speaking in their native tongue.
Solution: Assist with the problem and direct them back to speaking in
English.
Problem: Keeping the student’s attention as the lesson may bore
them.
Length of Lesson: 60 mins Anticipated Problems : Solution: Make the class as interesting as possible and keep their
attention by having them interact. Using relevant examples, to which
they can relate.
Problem: Students may get confused between conditionals and not
know when to use the first conditional and when to use the other
conditionals.
Solution: Explain that probability is the differentiating factor.
