So as the charity organization needs a new anti-virus software so my suggestion is the AVG internet
security as I think it is one of the best rated software and also very efficient. Steps for the planning
and installation of the anti-virus software is as follows:
1. Before planning the installation, the charity has to make sure how to install a software as the
installation is done from online so all the user needs to do is type in the anti-virus software
they require in this case AVG anti-virus. User should check if enough storage is available and
to check if the user has enough time as the process of downloading an anti-virus takes time.
2. There are sometimes when user doesn’t require the anti-virus software or if the user has it
there are times it doesn’t needed to be upgraded although an upgrade is already available
because new updates sometimes can have problems.
3. Most importantly the software which is supposed to be installed the compatibility of the
software needs to be checked as some software’s might not be compatible with the
operating system as windows XP or 7 might not be able to run the anti-virus software.
4. Appropriate times and this is why planning needs to be done and if the process is long then
it wouldn’t be suitable to download or upgrade the anti-virus during work hour as for the
charity it will not be suitable to do the download or upgrade in the middle of work hours.
5. For protection backups are required so files and important data stored is not lost,
sometimes some stored files on the computer can be corrupted and with the help of the
backup the files can be restored.
6. A plan to back off from the software is also required in case the user doesn’t want to update,
when these plans are in place then the software can be installed.
7. As soon as the installation is done of the anti-virus software it can be opened and checked if
the download is proper or when it is being updated then it can be checked if the current
software is running fine sometimes reviews can be read if a software is not working fine
after an update so the developer might soon release a bug fix or patch release. User should
notice the speed of the PC how well the apps are opening up (since when I downloaded an
anti-virus there were issues as it would not let me move some files or even delete the files
so this is why reviews are important.)
8. Testing is a good thing since a user will know and report any faults or bugs which might not
be fixed even after a patch release sometimes after an update a software might keep on
crashing.
