Het niet meer functioneren van bepaalde lichaamsfuncties.

Stoma’s (soorten, indicaties etc)
Stoma  kunstmatige uitgang voor ontlasting of urine, geplaatst op de buik
Soorten:
- Colostoma  dikke darm
- Ileostoma  dunne darm
- Urostoma  urinewegen
Indicaties:
- Colostoma
- Plaats: Colon transversum
Colon descendens
- Tijdelijk: Herstel darmdeel volgend op stoma (bv. colitus of Crohn)
- Blijvend: Laatste darmdeel blijft ziek of is geheel verwijderd (bv.
carcinoom)
- Overige indicaties: trauma/verwonding, atresie (ontbreken anus),
invaginatie (in elkaar
geschoven stuk darm)
- Ileostoma
- Plaats: meestal eind van het ileum, dus rechts op de buik
- Tijdelijk: herstel colon volgend op stoma (bv. ileus of Crohn)
- Blijvend: laatste darmdeel blijft ziek of is geheel verwijderd (bv. colitus of
niet
functionerend colon)
- Urostoma
- Plaats: meestal op rechteronderbuik
- (Altijd) blijvend: bv. blaas- urethacarcicoom, aangeboren afwijkingen,
interstitiële cystitis,
sociale en neurologische indicaties
- Overige indicaties: schrompelblaas door radiotherapie, MA, dwarslaesie
Eindstandig, enkelloops  1 uitgang  meestal blijvend
Dubbelloops  2 uitgangen  hersteloperatie mogelijk
Complicaties:
- Huidirritaties
- Schimmelinfecties
- Lekkage
- Retractie: stoma ligt lager dan huid
- Flush: stoma ligt op huidniveau
- Necrose en ontsteking
- Prolaps
- Stenose
