● Women tend to produce more oxytocin than men, especially as a result of childbirth.
● Reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol, therefore promotes calmness and
contentment.
● Facilitates bonding.
● Stimulates lactation.

○ Measure oxytocin levels in women’s saliva before and after breastfeeding.
