International Business

Introduction
In this report I will be looking at why two different businesses cooperate internationally, and I have
chosen Coca-Cola and Nike as my two companies to study. Trading internationally implies a company
that produces goods and services across national borders. I will be discussing what benefits it brings to
the two companies and how they trade.

The Coca-Cola Company is an American firm founded in 1892 that primarily manufactures and sells
syrup and concentrate for Coca-Cola, a sweetened carbonated beverage that has become a cultural icon
in the United States and a global emblem of American tastes.

Nike is well recognized for its footwear, clothes, and accessories. It is the world's largest athletic apparel
brand. The company was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports and changed its name to Nike in 1971
to honour the Greek goddess of triumph. Nike employs about 76,000 people worldwide and is one of
the most valued companies in the sports industry.

Exporting business

, An exporting company sells its products and services to clients in other nations, then exports them by
manufacturing them in one country and shipping them to another. Except for two countries, North
Korea and Cuba, Coco Cola exports its beverages to over 200 countries. Trade embargoes and sanctions
are still in place. Nike also has more than 200 outlets throughout the world, including more than 30 in
the United States, where it sells its products.

Importing business

An import is a product or service created in one country and shipped to another. Coke imports products
from all over the world. The vast majority of Coco Cola's products and resources originate in Asia.
However, Nike obtains their footwear from Malaysia and other low-income nations.

Multinational enterprises
A multinational corporation has operations and assets in at least one country other than its
own. Coco Cola is a splendid example of a multinational firm because they produce a wide
range of products in over 200 countries and employ over 94,000 people globally. another
example of a multinational corporation is Nike. It is a US-based clothing, footwear, sportswear,
and equipment manufacturer. Nike employs over 44,000 people worldwide and sells its
products in 160 countries, including Jordan.
Associated business
Some companies specialize in international trade and will provide specialized services to help
other companies run more effectively internationally. Coca-Cola has partnered with
organizations such Dr Pepper, Rose's, Powerade and Schweppes Classic. Nike, on the other
hand Nike also runs Air Jordan, Air Max, Nike Blazers, Nike Dunk, Nike Skateboarding and Nike
CR7.
Reasons for conducting business internationally
Growth
Performing on a worldwide scale has the potential for massive growth. Coca-cola has already
achieved this massive development and growth because they began operating in several
nations, not just two. To be more exact, Coca-cola now operates in 200 countries and generates
$37.27 billion in sales. Nike, on the other hand, has had incredible success because of its
expansion into 160 different countries and $37.4 billion in revenue.
Additional revenue streams
When a company gets revenue from a new source, it is referred to as a new revenue stream.
Coca-Cola has obtained extra revenue streams as a result of their global operations, which
allows them to receive revenue from all their new locations. The same could be argued about
Nike, as there would have been no new cash stream if they had not expanded and stayed in the
same place.
