, The 21st century classroom is one that is highly dynamic and diverse, so educators need to be
equipped with the knowledge, skills and professional attributes required to create a data-friendly
classroom. Data is essential tool as it is used to drive instruction to meet the individual needs of
each student and allows the teacher to “form theories about interventions and increase students’
success and then see if a change to teaching process or interventions increase learning”
(Bongiorno, 2011).
Smart Goal
To improve student learning, by June 1, 2022, the teacher will research three effective
collaboration strategies and work to implement one of these into his/her professional practice.
The teacher will describe the new collaboration strategy to colleagues and monitor progress by
documenting grade level and stakeholder collaboration meetings.
Action Plan
During the final semester of the 2021-2022 school year, teacher will increase collaboration and
teamwork skills in the classroom. To achieve this, research will be conducted on effective
collaboration strategies. One strategy will be employed during the months of March, April, and
May. Upon implementation of each strategy, documentation in the form of a written log will be
taken. In May, evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies and decide which is most successful.
Share findings with grade level team and other stakeholders at collaboration meetings.
