The focus is on equity and debt markets. The importance of ethics within financial markets will also be discussed. Introduction Welcome to Introduction to Financial Instruments and Markets. The aim of the unit is to provide students with an understanding of: l Financial markets and instruments; l Why financial markets behave the way they do; l How financial theory is used to solve practical problems; and l The importance of ethics within the finance and investment industry. The focus of the unit will be on the two largest asset classes: equity, and fixed-income (bonds).
