If the mother’s status is HBsAg-positive, then the dose should be administered as follows: 1 dose each of Hepatitis B vaccine (either Recomb Ivax HB or Engerix B) and Hepatitis B Immune Globulin (HBIG) is administered in separate limbs within 12 hours of birth regardless of weight.
