1. How did the scenario make you feel? - From already experiencing scenario 1, I felt more prepared for scenario 2. I had to be very conscious of the timing, making sure the vitals were being checked every 5 minutes, and the dose of albuterol was given every 20. Thankfully patient didn’t have an emergency event, but I feel as if I would’ve been ready had it happened. 2. What assessment findings would indicate that the patient’s condition is worsening? - Respiratory rate and rhythm increasing, with continued dyspnea. Prolonged cyanosis of skin. Increase or decrease in audible wheezes in the chest. Potential loss of consciousness, Agitation, and anxiety increase. Can’t speak in full sentences. Tightness of chest, and accessory muscle breathing. No reduction of symptoms post medication administration. Decreasing 02 sats, tachycardia.
