- His teaching is highly unconventional and conflicts with Welton's four pillars : "Tradition, Honour,
Discipline, Excellence."

"Suck the marrow out of life ... but don't choke on the bones.
- Mr Keating asks the students to rip out the section Poetry in their poetry book that describes literature
as a mathematical equation
