Religion in the United sates plays a vital role in their social, cultural, and political lives. Despite Christianity being the dominant religion in the United States, other religions like Islam, Hinduism, and Judaism have flourished over the years. Despite the majority of Americans having different religious affiliations, there is a small percentage of the population with no religious affiliation. The number of religious people in the United States continues to grow over the years hence leading to religion playing a vital role in influencing the social, political, and cultural lives of the people. The religious landscape of the people in the United States rapidly changes with time despite its growth and influence (Gutterman, 2006). As the number of different religions grows, the name of the religiously unaffiliated people also increases. Most of this religiously unaffiliated population is among the young people.
