Socialisation begins at home where the child learns the basic social rites within the first year from his parents. At home the child learns who they are, what they are capable of and what they can expect from the community. From infancy the child’s contact with his Parents are more frequent, warmer and more emotional. The relationship between a child and his parents, especially his mother, is the blueprint to all future relationships. The child starts to mime his parents facial expressions, then their movements and then their whole behavioural patterns. - Pre-primary, formal school and day care is the second most important socialisation agent after the family and it’s where the child learns acceptable skills and attitudes in society what his culture heritage entitles.
