Describe the competitive forces on two selected contrasting business
organizations to develop or update their use of e-business
For this task I am going to describe the competitive pressure of two companies of my choice
with are Curry's Pc World and Tesco. I will also explain how two selected companies would have
responded to the competitive pressure and have they made any developments/ updates with
the use of their e-business.
-There are many reasons why companies should develop their internet presences as it the
business can be presented with a lot of benefits and towards their customers. By curry's pc
world developing their online presence it will allow them to look more professional and
intriguing as a business and it can be more time efficient for potential customers. As curry's has
a huge range of different electronic products in their stores, which makes it time consuming for
a customer as they have to walk around the whole store trying to find a product that they're
after. But it will be more reliable if the customer just went onto the curry's website and also the
website offers product reviews, feedback and other recommendations which make it more
beneficial, as the customer has a wider range of products to browse from. This means that
curry's can engage to their customers to give more customer service and support as not all
customer has access to any local store so shopping online is much more convenient to the
customers as the majority of the population how access to the internet. In addition to this not
all curry's pc world retail stores are not 24 hours like their website is so customer that access
their websites at different times can lead to more profits for the business.
-Another reason to why next will develop their internet presences, can be a way of recruiting
online employees. In doing so Tesco is developing the way they recruit applicants online as it is
more time efficient and easier for both next and the applicant who is applying for the role. All
applicants who apply for the role have their information delivered to the HR department, which
is recorded, and store safely online, once reviewed the HR department can determined
whether they want to hire the person or not. Now this is a huge benefit for next as they
wouldn’t be wasting time or money having to set up a recruitment process, setting up a
interview can be very time consuming. So, by next developing their internet presence it can
help to improve hiring people much more convenient.
-The definition of competitive forces are different factors that can be used to instrument the
shape of a company's strengths and weaknesses. Some competitive forces can include the
power of customer demands, suppliers, internet and the changes of new competitors. Now
these competitive forces have a huge influence on Tesco and curry's pc world to develop their

internet platforms because of the high customer demands it enquires especially with both
businesses having such a huge reputation customer would be expecting best customer service
and high-quality products, but sometimes some businesses feel pressured to keep up to date
with the internet just of the sake of keeping their customers happy as they are trying to provide
the best customer service. This is usually because customers expect that the company Will
make everything perfect for example faster deliveries for the products to arrive. In doing this
influences the customer demands for Tesco and curry's pc worlds because if customers are not
satisfied with the business then sales prices will drastically decline and there won't be any
generating profits due to low sales.
-Another reason why Tesco and curry's pc world might be influenced to develop their internet
presence is because of their competitors. As technology in general is gradually growing and
developing this allows competitors to adapt to the new changes which can give them any
advantages over their competitors. Some company's businesses can feel less professional if
they can't manage to keep themselves updated by developing their internet platforms. In failing
to keep updated can result in losing a lot of customers which in the long term can prevent the
company from making profits and eventually their business would be closed down, a perfect
example I can used is toys R Us who used to be a fierce competitor towards both Tesco and
Curry Pc World as they were the populist kids toys store until they went bankrupt due to not
having an online presence customers lost interest of the business which resulted in the business
closing down a number of its stores.
-After transitioning from a physical store to having an online presence both Tesco’s and Curry
Pc World have had huge success with their online platforms as they have been able to use the
websites reach out to a wider audience of customers by providing a larger service in which
customers can access from their devices. As Tesco and Curry's Pc World have a large number of
competitors it's important for both the business to stay on top of their competitors which is
why both Tesco’s and Curry's Pc World constantly be updating their websites by offering new
services. Tesco recently introduced a new service which is called the shopping slot which allows
customers to purchase products online and have it delivered to their door within a certain time
on the same day the order is placed, now this service is a smart marketing strategy for Tesco to
introduce to their customers following the fact that we in a global pandemic in which a number
of stores have to limit customers from entering their stores which makes it easier for customer
to order from their houses as it saves them time from traveling to the store and having to wait
in long queues as there are a lot of impatient customers who don’t like waiting which is why
this marketing strategy to avoid Tesco's from losing customers because they may feel there
customer may decides to go shop at their competitors with their main one being Sainsburys.
Now Curry's Pc World where two separate stores which used to compete with each other until
