I compared stroke on CINAHL and Google Scholar and found the following : CINAHL provided a search result of 80,184 while Google Scholar search result was about 3,080,000. Google scholar provided more result than CINAHL when compared in the number of research result. I went further to narrow down the number of article by searching in CINAHL Stroke among adult, using customized year ranging from January 2014 to March 2017, full text, and Age group-Adult 19-44 years, it narrowed down my result to four result which gave me the opportunity to pick the exact one I need. Then in the Google Scholar, I typed in the same search topic which is Stroke among adult and was able to select only the year range, it narrowed my search to 428 results. How do you know your article choice is credible? Which database do you prefer and why? I was unable to pick an article in Google scholar because the article that were narrowed down did not contain the information am looking for. I choose an article from CINAHL because the article contains full text, age range, year range, table showing results in different age groups, the article has references which show that evidence base was included and in-text citation as well. I prefer CINAHL because it narrowed my search down from 80,184 to 4 which gave me the privilege to focus on the few articles. i choose "Declining prevalence of no known major risk factors for heart disease and stroke among adults". while Google Scholar still gave me more result of 480 to look up.
