Writing Process
- A writing process is a set of mental and physical steps that someone takes
to create any type of text.
- Consists of 5 steps: Prewriting, Drafting, Revising, Editing, and Publishing
(PDREP)
- This is the correct process of creating a text.
Prewriting
- Creating a brief outline of the topic
- Includes finding a topic, restricting the scope of the topic, deciding on the
purpose–persuade, inform, entertain–, and determining the appropriate
language and tone
- Brainstorming an idea
- Writing down ideas that come to mind
- Researching on the topic and finding a topic that interests the audience
- Uses a graphic organizer to organize the information
- Depends on what text structure will be used
