📖 DEFINITION
Refr action of Light: Jab light ek transparent medium se doosre transparent medium
mein enter karti hai aur dono mediums ki optical density alag hoti hai, toh light apna
dir ection change kar leti hai (bend ho jaati hai) . Is phenomenon ko Refr action of
Light kehte hain.
Refraction tab hota hai jab light obliquely (angle se, seedha nahi) ek medium se doosre
mein jaati hai. Agar light bilkul normal ke saath enter kare, toh refraction nahi hota — sirf
speed change hoti hai.

• Rarer → Denser medium: Light slow down hoti hai → Normal ki TARAF bend hoti hai (angle i >

Denser medium mein: speed ↓, wavelength ↓, frequency = CONSTANT
Frequency never changes during refraction — only speed and wavelength change.
