The A-B-C theory - (ANSWER)maintains that when we have an emotional reaction at point C (the
emotional consequence), after some Activating event that occurred at point A, it is not the event itself
(A) that causes the emotional state (C), although it may contribute to it. It is the Belief system (B), or the
beliefs that we have about that event that mainly creates C.



Cognitive restructuring - (ANSWER)teaches people how to make themselves less disturbed



The process of disputation of irrational beliefs - (ANSWER)- detecting irrational beliefs and seeing that
they are illogical and unrealistic

- debating these irrational beliefs and showing oneself how they are unsupported by evidence

- discriminating between irrational thinking and rational thinking
