Syllabus
Spring 2026

General Information
MATH 126 (Calculus II) is a 4 credit hour course. We will be using Canvas this
semester to communicate with students. Students are expected to check Canvas, as
well as their KU email, formunicate with students. announcements regarding the
course on a regular basis. Students should regularly check the course Canvas page
for graded work, course assignments, course announcements, and more detailed
course content/materials.

Course Description
Techniques of integration, including integration by parts. Applications of integration,
includingApplications of integration, including volume, arc length, work and average
value. Infinite sequences and series and Taylor series. Polar coordinates, vectors and
the geometry of space. Open for only 2 hours of credit to students with credit in
MATH 116. Not open for credit to students with credit in MATH 146. Prerequisite:
MATH 116, MATH 125, or MATH 145, with a grade of C- or higher. Additionally, if
enrolled in MATH 197 (required with 26752) also, then this is offered to provide
opportunities for deeper understanding of freshman-sophomore mathematics
through interactive learning. Topics will vary. May be repeated for additional credit.
Prerequisite: MATH 116, MATH 125, or MATH 145, with a grade of C- or higher.

Instructional Mode and Credit Hours
This course is in-person and fulfills 4 credit hours. Consistent with KU policy and the
federalConsistent with KU policy and the federal definition of credit hour, this means
you should expect to spend at least 12 hours a week on this course over the
semester. If you are enrolled in MATH 197 then this course fulfills 5 credit hours and
so this means you should expect to spend at least 15 hours a week on this course.

Required Materials
Achieve Access: An online homework tool - costs if not taken MATH 125 at KU,
and includes access to the ebook, Early Transcendentals (4th edition) by
Rogawski & Adams. You will have access to Achieve through Canvas. You
should use the link on Canvas and if asked your KU email address.

iClicker App: You should use the link on Canvas for iClicker; if you do not have
an account, you should create one using your KU email address. If you have
multiple KU email aliases, you should ask your instructor which one to use. You
will need to download the iClicker app from the iClicker website. You should
not be charged for iClicker for this course.
