Onset
Gradual onset, symptoms began approximately 2-3 weeks ago.
Location
Initially appeared on flexural surfaces of the arms (antecubital
fossae/inner elbows) and behind the knees (popliteal fossae)
Spread to involve neck, wrists, and lower abdomen
, In scabies version: Begins on hands/finger webs, spreads to trunk and
groin
Duration
Persistent, continuous itching for 2-3 weeks with progressive
worsening.
Characteristics
Intense, persistent pruritus described as "deep, crawling sensation"
Dry, scaly patches with redness (erythema)
Excoriations (scratch marks) present due to scratching
Scratching provides temporary relief but worsens irritation afterward
No pain, burning sensation, bleeding, or purulent drainage from
lesions
No vesicles, pustules, or bullae
Aggravating Factors
Worse at night (critical finding - 7-8/10 severity, disrupts sleep)
Hot showers or sweating
