Chest pain with activity, but goes away after the precipitating event stops. It is caused by decreased blood flow and decreased oxygen available because of less cardiac output. Build up of plaque that creates a block, so less O2 available, and when you do something straining, it makes it harder and puts stress on the heart. As soon as she stops the straining the pain stops Ex: when she walks to mailbox she gets sub-sternal chest pain, every time. Rates it a 3-5 and lasts for about 5 min until she sits down and then it subsides Chronic stable angina REVERSIBLE & TEMPORARY myocardial ischemia What it does NOT look like: sharp, stabbing, doesn’t change with movement or position or breathing
