Introduction
Why Photosynthesis Is Important
Have you ever wondered how plants grow from tiny seeds into large trees and colorful
flowers? The answer is photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process plants use to make
their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. Without photosynthesis, plants
could not survive, and neither could humans or animals because plants provide oxygen and
are the foundation of many food chains.
However, many plants do not always receive the conditions they need for efficient
photosynthesis. Lack of sunlight, poor soil quality, and limited water can slow plant growth
and reduce crop production. This can affect farmers, ecosystems, and food supplies around
the world.
Because photosynthesis is essential for life on Earth, finding ways to improve it can help
plants grow healthier and produce more food.
