1. ABSORPTION The movement of a chemical into
plants, animals (including humans), and/or microorgan-
isms.

2. ACARICIDE A pesticide used to control mites and
ticks. Amiticide is an acaricide.

3. ACTIVE INGREDI- The chemical or chemicals in a

7. AGGREGATION See pheromone.
PHEROMONE

8. AEROSOL Amaterial stored in a container under pressure.
Fine droplets are produced when the material dissolved
in a liquid carrier is released into the air from the
pressurized container.

9. ALGAE Relatively simple plants that contain chlorophyll
and are photosynthetic.

10. ALGICIDE Apesticide used to kill or inhibit algae.
