reducing carbon footprint. There are several actions that an individual can take to

reduce the overall carbon footprint. One of these actions is to limit the usage of vehicles

since they use gasoline and the combustion of the engine releases hazardous elements

into the surroundings. Moreover, it is crucial to conduct regular vehicle maintenance to

reduce environmental pollution and improve efficiency. One can utilize alternative ways

such as cycling, walking, or public transport, which can significantly minimize carbon

footprint. The second action is using energy-efficient bulbs, minimizing electricity costs

(Olaleru et al., 2021). Besides, energy-saving bulbs are eco-friendly, and utilizing them

for a longer period will reduce carbon footprint. It is also crucial for people to promote

recycling, which will reduce environmental waste and pollution.

Going green requires initial costs which is a barrier to many. However, government

incentives and long-term savings can balance these costs. For instance, green leases

and loans can help low-income families to go green. Therefore, favorable government

policies, individual initiatives, and community support can help minimize the initial

financial burden, allowing more people to go green and minimize their carbon footprint

(Rondoni & Grasso, 2021).

changes that minimize carbon footprint with minimal cost. For instance, using public

transportation, walking or biking can help reduce carbon emissions. Recycling can help

reduce waste and turning off lights will help conserve energy (Green, 2021). These

approaches are cheap and can minimize carbon emissions for many individuals. On the

other hand, “$” approaches involve notable infrastructure and technological

expenditures with long-term benefits. For instance, solar panels can significantly reduce

power expenditures and usage of fossil fuels. Electric vehicles minimize pollution and

energy-efficient appliances save energy (Attari et al., 2019). Favorable government

policies and tax credits make these approaches more accessible.

Moreover, “free” or “$” (priced) options present different advantages and setbacks.

“Free” approaches are cheap and easy to implement, making them suitable for many

individuals. These approaches also promote environmental and sustainability

awareness. However, they have limited impact in reducing the overall carbon footprint.

“$” approaches significantly minimize carbon emissions and may offer financial

rewards. Nonetheless, they require significant initial costs, limiting their implementation

(Williams et al., 2021).

Considering advantages and practicality, it is important to integrate both “free” or “$”

alternatives. Both alternatives are important and play a key role in reducing carbon
