ORG4801 ASSIGNMENT 01 SEMESTER 1 2026 Question 1 – Maximum of 1 500 words [20] As a BCom Honours student in the University of Lesotho’s Department of Business Administration, you have been assigned by your lecturer, Dr C. Phethoho, to write a 1 500‑word essay on recognising the need for change and identifying sources of change within an organisation you are familiar with. This may be an organisation where you are currently employed, one where you previously worked, or any organisation for which you can easily access publicly available information. To write and submit an academically sound essay that blends theory and practice, Dr Phethoho, has asked you to use the prescribed study materials as your primary source of theory as well as publicly available company information to link theory and practice. However, to expand your knowledge and understanding of the phenomenon you are writing about, Dr Phethoho, has asked you to identify and use relevant supplementary material like journal articles that can be accessed and downloaded from the Unisa Library or other public databases. Using the PEST Analysis Framework, identify and discuss the following: (i) how the need for change was recognised (ii) the specific source of change affecting the case organisation. Dr Phethoho has further asked you, using the same organisation you used for Question 1, to write another 1 500-word essay in which you identify and discuss the pattern of change at the case organisation. As Question 2 – Maximum of 1 500 words [20] 3 4 with question 1, you are required to use the prescribed study materials, textbook and lessons as your primary source of your theory, supplemented with other material like journal articles that can be accessed from the Unisa Library and other databases. Question 3 – Maximum of 700 words [10] To complete Question 3, ensure that you have worked through the self‑assessment activities for Lessons 1–3 and posted your responses on the relevant lesson activity portals for engagement with other students. To deepen your self‑study and collaborative learning skills, you are required to write a self‑reflective essay discussing how the process of answering the self‑assessment questions and comparing your responses with those of other students on myUnisa either enhanced or inhibited your understanding of the lesson content. As evidence of your engagement with fellow students, include a screenshot of your lesson activity posts on myUnisa as an annexure at the end of your script.
