The Supreme Court of Appeal
• Jurisdiction to hear and determine an appeal against any decision of a high court.
Leave to appeal must first be sought from the High Court.
• Section 333 of CPA - Minister may invoke decision of Appellate Division on
question of law.
• Whenever the Minister of Justice has any doubt as to the correctness of any
decision given by any superior court in any criminal case on a question of law, or
whenever a decision in any criminal case on a question of law is given by any
division of the Supreme Court which is in conflict with a decision in any criminal
case on a question of law given by any other division of the Supreme Court,
• he may submit such decision or, as the case may be, such conflicting decisions to
the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and cause the matter to be argued
