Assignment B – Board Plan(s)
On this page, show what you would write on the white board during the presentation stage, including: example sentences, timeline,
form and function.
Be realistic about how much you could put on the board during the lesson, and how much students would be able read and take notes
on.
Before students arrive in the classroom, I will write on the board:
If it’s sunny this weekend, I will go to the park!
During the warmer, as students are sharing the different activitie that they enjoy doing on the weekends, I will be writing their responses as if
they are stand-alone phrases (see text in black). During the presentation phase, as we are talking about what conditions allow us to do each
activity, I will add to the phrases, forming 1st conditional sentences (see text in blue).
If it’s sunny this weekend, I will go to the park
If my parents say it’s OK, I will ride bikes with my friends
If my mom has to work, I will babysit my brother
If my cousins come to visit, I will have dinner with my family
Continuing with creating the interrogative form, I will ask students what the weather COULD be like this weekend, and I will write their
respones as the “If” clause of a 1st conditional phrase (essentially, the opposite of exercise #1 – see text in green):
If it’s sunny this weekend, I will _________________________________.
If it rains this weekend, I will __________________________________.
If it’s cloudy and cold this weekend, I will ________________________.
If it’s hot this weekend, I will ________________________________.
