Considerations for Integrating Technology As a future nurse educator, you take responsibility for integrating technology into the curriculum. Reflect on your educational journey and the use of technology in your personal learning experiences and then consider the ethical use of technology from the perspective of a nurse educator. Learner perspective (e-portfolio page): • How has technology enhanced or detracted from your learning? • How could your learning experiences with technology have been improved? • What type of technology resonates with your preferred learning style? Educator perspective (e-portfolio): • What parameters should be put in place to ensure the ethical use of technology? • How will you address online access issues experienced by students who have physical disabilities, speak English as a second language, have low computer literacy levels, or are unable to afford the technology (smartphone) or required cellular or Internet services? • Is it ethical to exclude these individuals? Use your e-portfolio to post your responses to this assignment. Refer to the readings you have completed so far in the course to develop your response. Technology Self-Assessment Improvement Plan Now that you have completed your technology knowledge and skills self-assessment and reviewed the learning resources for this module, use the results of your technology self-assessment and Kirkpatrick’s model of evaluation to assess your educational technology training up to this point and to develop a plan for maintaining and improving your educational technology knowledge and skills. Post your assessment and plan as a page to the "Technology Self-Assessment and Improvement Plan" section of your e- portfolio. Explain what strikes you about how the challenges are the same or different in 2017 to previous years. What changes do you see in the current or upcoming year?
