§211.27. Reporting Responsibilities of Individuals Answer: Within thirty days, a
licensee shall report to the commission:
- any name change;
- a permanent mailing address other than an agency address;
- all subsequent address changes
- Class C misdemeanor, or for any Class C misdemeanor involving the duties and
responsibilities of office or family violence
- the final disposition of the criminal action
- receipt of a dishonorable or other discharge based on misconduct which bars future
military service.
§211.28 Responsibility of a Law Enforcement Agency to Report an Arrest Answer:
for any offense above a Class C misdemeanor, or for any Class C misdemeanor
involving the duties and responsibilities of office or family violence must report such
arrest to the commission in the format currently prescribed by the commission within
30 business days of notice of the arrest; including the:
- name, date of birth and PID of licensee (if available);
- name, address, and telephone number of the arresting agency;
- date and nature of the arrest;
- arresting agency incident, booking, or arrest number; and

, - name, address, and telephone number of the court in which such charges are filed
or such arrest is filed or such arrest is filed.
§217.1 Minimum Standards for Initial Licensure Answer: - age requirement:
- for peace officers and public security officers, is 21 years of age; or 18 years of age
if the applicant has received:
- an associate's degree; or 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or
university; or
- has received an honorable discharge from the armed forces of the United States
after at least two years of active service;
- for jailers is 18 years of age;
- minimum educational requirements:
- has passed a general educational development (GED) test indicating high school
graduation level; or
- holds a high school diploma
- show no trace of drug dependency or illegal drug use after a blood test or other
medical test
§217.11. Legislatively Required Continuing Education for Licensees Answer: -
Individuals appointed as peace officers shall complete at least 40 hours of continuing
education training and must complete a training and education program that covers
recent changes to the laws of this state and of the United States pertaining to peace
officers every 24-month unit of a training cycle
§217.21. Firearms Proficiency Requirements Answer: - Each agency or entity that
employs at least one peace officer shall:
- require each peace officer that it employs to successfully complete the current
firearms proficiency requirements at least once each year;
